Prudence Crystalwing was a fairy godmother. Her only purpose in life was to watch over a human child and guide him. This task had been given to her by The Summer Queen, the archfey Titania, Fairy Queen of the Seelie Court. She was very proud of her task, and imperceptibly followed Artemis Greyson everywhere he went, either invisible by his side, her in his dreams.
But once adult, Artemis was swallowed by the mists, torn away from Prudence by the dark powers. Reaching for Artemis through his dreams, she was taken into Ravenloft herself.
She survived miserably for many years. Losing all her fairy magic, she lost all hope and attempted to end her life... only to be saved by the whispered voices of the Scarlet Maiden. The voices guided her into a new faith through which she learned to accept death and its consequences peacefully, almost forgetting about Artemis, until one day they met again for a brief moment that ignited in her all the emotions she had lost. Only to be destroyed quickly by the vile intervention of Baron Strad Von Zarovich...
Since then, she despairs and listens to ever darker whispers from the Scarlet Maiden. She clings to her companion in their attempts to survive the horrors of the domains of dread, and nourishes tender feelings for Dark Giu, who keeps her desires to die quiet ironically through his own necromantic energy.
In other circumstances, she is also known as Scarletwing, a mighty fairy of the Seelie Court whose strong emotions overcome the mind of mortals and feys alike.
